The first post-release character for SNK’s heavily promoted Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves will challenge the fighter as soon as next week, on 24th June.

You may recall the Japanese publisher announced an enticing proposition for this title: buy it at full-price and get the entire first Season Pass for free. While sales haven’t exactly reflected the investment put into the marketing, that’s still a generous, consumer-friendly decision that deserves to be acknowledged.

And as previously announced, first up is Andy Bogard, the South Town shinobi who’s a master of Shiranui-style melee combat.

“Now that his pupil Hokutomaru has come into his own, Andy longs for the day when the two can square up in a real bout – not only as master and apprentice, but also man-to-man,” the blurb reads.

“At the same time, he knows that a separate battle yet remains: a contest he has always yearned for. A man he was born to fight.”

As you’d expect, the DLC will add single player content to both the Arcade and RPG-inspired Episodes of South Town, so you can watch Andy’s story unfold across both options. You’ll also be able to play as the character online and in local multiplayer.

The remainder of the game’s Season 1 content includes Ken from Street Fighter, Joe Higashi, Chun-Li from Street Fighter, and Mr. Big. It’s going to be interesting to see whether the title’s been successful enough to encourage a second season or not.
