It’s so funny how perception can change so quickly and dramatically.

Bloober Team was, let’s be honest, under intense scrutiny when it was attached to the remake of Silent Hill 2. The studio was constantly criticised for its past output, and few had hope it would deliver a quality remake.

But it did, and now suddenly there’s a lot of enthusiasm for its upcoming original sci-fi horror, Cronos: The New Dawn.

To be fair, this gameplay showcase looks pretty good. It’s clearly building on an established formula, but we really like the idea of hostile alien enemies merging to create more powerful alter-egos. As you’d expect of the Polish dev, the presentation is on point too.

The game’s due out later this year so you won’t have to wait long to play it, and remember Bloober Team has also just confirmed it’s going to work on a remake of the original Silent Hill as well.
